• EXPLORATION ZONE
    for Middle School Students & Parents

    We encourage parents to be involved in the entire career exploration process.

          Assessments are tools that identify various areas including interests, values,          skills, and personality. Students can begin exploring high school electives, high                      school career paths, college majors, jobs, and career choices.

     

    In middle school, we explore personality traits.

     

    In high school, interests, values, and skills will be assessed.

  • Step 1:  Take a personality test. Make sure you save and print your results so you can share the information with your counselor and your parents. https://www.16personalities.com/free-personality-test

     

    Step 2:  Set up a meeting with your counselor to discuss your personality traits and results and guide you through the next steps of your career planning process. renee.braswell@junctionisd.net

     

    Step 3: Meet with your counselor - You will complete steps 3-10 with your counselor throughout several meetings.

     

    Step 4: Explore job possibilities that match your personality traits.

     

    Step 5: Explore educational degrees or job experiences needed. 

     

    Step 6: Explore the job market and salaries.

     

    Step 7: Explore colleges or trade schools that offer the education needed.

     

    Step 8: Discuss High School Graduation Endorsements.

     

    Step 9: Involve your parents - If your parents have not been involved up to this point, we encourage you to talk with them about your plans.

     

    Step 10: Set up a meeting with the counselor for you and your parents to discuss plans for high school endorsement choices. The high school counselor will set up a parents' meeting in May to discuss high school endorsement choices.
